Ingredients

For the Cookie Dough:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup cream cheese, softened to a creamy texture

For the Blueberry Swirl:

1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

Prepare the Blueberry Swirl:

    - In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

      - Cook for about 5-7 minutes, gently stirring occasionally. The blueberries will start to break down and release their juices. Once this happens, remove the saucepan from heat and set it aside to cool.

        Make the Cookie Dough:

          - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

            - In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined. Set this dry mix aside.

              - In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

                - Add in the egg and vanilla extract; beat until everything is well combined and smooth.

                  - Gradually incorporate the dry ingredient mixture into the wet mixture, mixing until just combined to avoid overworking the dough.

                    - Gently fold in the softened cream cheese until the cookie dough becomes creamy and uniform.

                      Combine and Swirl:

                        - Take about 1/4 cup of the cooled blueberry mixture and carefully fold it into the cookie dough. Be sure to leave visible swirls of blueberry in the dough—don’t overmix!

                          - Using a tablespoon, scoop and drop dollops of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Ensure that each scoop has a bit of the blueberry swirl visible for a beautiful presentation.

                            Bake the Cookies:

                              - Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are gently golden and the cookies have set.

                                - Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to rest on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

                                  Serve & Enjoy:

                                    - Once the cookies are fully cooled, enjoy them right away, or store them in an airtight container where they will stay fresh for up to a week.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 24 cookies

                                        - Presentation Tips: Arrange the cookies on a beautiful platter, and consider garnishing with a few fresh blueberries and a dusting of powdered sugar for an elegant touch!
