Ingredients

12 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks or cubes

24 wonton wrappers

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs (for extra crunch)

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil (for frying)

Marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Wontons: Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface or cutting board, ensuring it stays flat.

Fill the Wrappers: Place a mozzarella stick or cube in the center of the wonton wrapper. Using your fingertip, moisten the edges of the wrapper with a small amount of water to help seal it later.

Seal the Wontons: Carefully fold the wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing down firmly along the edges to seal. Fold the two outer corners of the triangle towards the center and press to seal them as well. Make sure there are no air pockets inside and the cheese is securely enclosed within the wrapper.

Set Up Dredging Stations: Set up three shallow bowls to create an assembly line:

          - The first bowl should contain all-purpose flour.

            - The second bowl should hold the beaten eggs.

              - The third bowl should include panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Coat the Wontons: Take each sealed wonton and dip it into the flour, shaking off any excess. Next, immerse it in the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off, then finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until it is fully coated with crumbs.

Heat the Oil: In a deep frying pan or pot, pour in enough vegetable oil to achieve about 2 inches of depth. Heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches a temperature of 350°F (175°C). Use a kitchen thermometer for accuracy.

Fry the Wontons: Carefully drop a few wontons at a time into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they achieve a beautiful golden brown color and are crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain off any excess oil.

Serve: Present the crispy mozzarella wonton dippers while warm, accompanied by a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.
