Ingredients

4 ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (substitute with milk chocolate for a sweeter flavor)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a glossy finish)

1/2 cup assorted crushed nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, or pistachios)

1/2 cup shredded coconut (choose between unsweetened or sweetened)

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Popsicle sticks or wooden skewers

Instructions

Prep the Bananas: Begin by peeling the bananas. Cut each banana in half to create 8 pieces in total. Carefully insert a popsicle stick or wooden skewer into the thicker end of each banana half, making sure it is anchored well for easy handling.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil (if you're using it). Heat the mixture in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the chocolate is completely melted and achieves a smooth consistency.

Coat the Bananas: Take each banana half and dip it into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before moving to the next step.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, roll the coated bananas in the crushed nuts or sprinkle them with shredded coconut and a light sprinkle of sea salt, according to your taste preferences.

Freeze: Arrange the chocolate-coated banana pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other. Place the baking sheet in the freezer and let the pops freeze for a minimum of 2 hours, or until the chocolate has completely hardened.

Serve: Once the pops are frozen solid, remove them from the freezer. You can enjoy them immediately as a refreshing treat or wrap each pop individually in parchment paper for a convenient snack on the go!
