Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 cup warm milk (heated to 110°F/45°C)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a spicy kick)

1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Stir well to ensure all dry ingredients are evenly mixed.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk and melted butter until well blended. Gradually pour this wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to mix until a rough dough begins to form.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 to 7 minutes. Knead until the dough is smooth and elastic, then shape it into a round ball.

First Rise: Place the dough ball in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and set it in a warm location. Allow it to rise for approximately 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare the Garlic-Butter Mixture: In a small saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, just until fragrant. Remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes if you opted to use them.

Shape the Dough: Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release any air. Transfer it to a floured surface and roll it out into a large rectangle approximately 12x18 inches in size. Cut the rolled dough into small squares (about 2 inches each).

Stack the Pieces: Dip each dough square into the warm garlic-butter mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Stack them vertically in a greased bundt pan or loaf pan, layering until all pieces are used.

Second Rise: Cover the pan with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise again for 30 to 45 minutes. It should puff up and fill the spaces between the stacked squares.

Preheat & Brush: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, beat the egg until smooth, then use it to brush the top of the dough. This will give the bread a lovely golden color once baked.

Bake: Carefully place the pan in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Serve: Remove the pull-apart bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Gently pull apart the sections and enjoy them warm, perhaps with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

                        Prep Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 2 hours | Servings: 8-10

                          - Presentation Tips: For an appealing presentation, serve the pull-apart bread on a wooden cutting board, garnished with fresh parsley sprigs and a small bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.
