Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 oz each)

1/4 cup honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

2 green onions, finely sliced (for garnish)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until the mixture is smooth and well integrated. Set this flavorful marinade aside to allow the flavors to meld.

      Season the Salmon:

Gently pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Generously season both sides of each fillet with salt and black pepper, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish.

          Heat the Skillet:

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering and ready, carefully place the salmon fillets in the skillet skin-side down. Cook for approximately 4-5 minutes, allowing the skin to become crispy and develop a beautiful golden-brown color.

              Flip the Salmon:

Using a spatula, gently flip the salmon fillets over. Immediately pour the previously prepared honey-garlic marinade over the fillets. Reduce the heat to medium, then cook for another 4-5 minutes. During this time, occasionally spoon the sauce over the salmon to keep it moist and flavorful, cooking until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

                  Thicken the Sauce (Optional):

If a thicker glaze is desired, carefully remove the cooked salmon from the skillet and set it on a plate. Increase the heat to high and allow the remaining sauce to bubble vigorously for 1-2 minutes until it thickens slightly.

                      Serve:

Plate each salmon fillet and generously drizzle the rich pan sauce over the top. For a delightful presentation, garnish with sesame seeds and slices of green onions. Serve the dish with fresh lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.
