Ingredients

4 cups water

4 green tea bags (or 4 teaspoons loose leaf green tea)

2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced

1/4 cup honey (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lemon

Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Ice cubes

Instructions

Boil the Water: Begin by heating 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan or kettle until it reaches a rolling boil.

Steep the Green Tea: Once the water has boiled, remove it from the heat. Place the green tea bags (or the loose leaf tea in a tea infuser) into the hot water and allow it to steep for 3-4 minutes. To avoid bitterness, do not steep for longer than this time.

Prepare the Peach Syrup: While the tea is steeping, combine the sliced peaches and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the peaches soften and the honey dissolves. Continue to cook for about 5-7 minutes, until the mixture becomes soft and syrupy.

Strain the Peach Mixture: Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the peach mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl. Use the back of a spoon to press down and extract as much syrup as possible, discarding the solids afterward.

Combine Ingredients: Once your green tea has steeped for the appropriate time, remove the tea bags or infuser. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice and the peach syrup you prepared. Taste the mixture and add more honey for sweetness if desired.

Chill the Tea: Allow the tea to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1-2 hours until it is thoroughly cold.

Serve: For serving, fill tall glasses with plenty of ice cubes. Pour the chilled peach iced green tea over the ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves and extra peach slices if you like.

Enjoy: Sip and relish the refreshing taste of summer with every delightful gulp of your Peach Paradise Iced Green Tea!
