Ingredients

2 salmon fillets (approximately 6 oz each)

2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce (either store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup fresh green beans, trimmed

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown, your preference)

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon garlic, finely minced

1 teaspoon ginger, finely minced

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a small bowl, whisk together the teriyaki sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of this marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Allow the salmon to marinate for at least 10 minutes while you prepare the remaining ingredients.

Cook the Green Beans: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of water. Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet, cover, and steam for about 3-4 minutes until they appear bright green and tender-crisp. Remove the lid, and season the green beans with salt, pepper, and sesame oil. Sauté for an additional 2 minutes until they are fully cooked. Once done, remove the green beans from the skillet and set them aside.

Cook the Salmon: In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil, heating it over medium heat. Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down. Cook for approximately 4-5 minutes, then gently flip the fillets and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. During the last minute of cooking, brush the remaining marinade over the salmon to enhance the flavor.

Assemble the Bowl: For plating, spoon the cooked rice into serving bowls as a base. Neatly arrange the sautéed green beans on one side of the rice, and place the teriyaki salmon on the other side. Finally, sprinkle sesame seeds and the sliced green onions over the entire bowl for a burst of color and flavor.

Serve & Enjoy: If desired, drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the assembled bowls. Serve immediately and enjoy this delightful, flavorful meal!
