Ingredients

8 oz (225 g) high-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher), finely chopped

1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream

2 tablespoons espresso coffee, brewed and cooled to room temperature

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

1/2 cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)

1/4 cup (30 g) finely chopped roasted coffee beans (optional garnish)

Instructions

Melt the Chocolate: In a heatproof mixing bowl, add the finely chopped dark chocolate. In a small saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Once simmering, pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften.

Mix Until Smooth: After the resting period, use a whisk to stir the mixture gently until it comes together into a silky smooth consistency. Stir in the cooled brewed espresso and pure vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Incorporate Butter: Add the softened unsalted butter to the chocolate mixture. Stir vigorously until the butter is completely blended into the ganache, enriching it with a creamy texture.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Chill for about 1-2 hours, or until the ganache is firm enough to scoop and shape.

Form the Truffles: Once the ganache has set, retrieve the bowl from the fridge. Using a small cookie scoop or a spoon, portion out the chilled ganache and roll each portion between your palms to form smooth balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter.

Dust with Cocoa Powder: Place the unsweetened cocoa powder onto a shallow plate. Roll each truffle in the cocoa powder, ensuring they are evenly coated. If you wish, sprinkle a few finely chopped roasted coffee beans on top of each truffle for an added layer of flavor and crunch.

Chill Again: Arrange the rolled truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate them for an additional 30 minutes to firm up further before serving.

Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled and firm, plate your luxurious espresso delight truffles on an elegant serving platter. Pair them with a steaming cup of coffee or enjoy them as a sumptuous dessert any time of the day!

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes | Servings: Approximately 20 truffles

                    - Presentation Tips: For an elegant touch, garnish the presentation platter with whole coffee beans or fresh mint leaves to complement the rich chocolate truffles.
